Vondace Contracting Launches Initiative to Create Education and Networking Opportunities for Minority- and Women-Owned Construction Firms
September 3, 2019
Vondace Contracting announces EQUIP, a new initiative dedicated to the business development and inclusion of minority and women-owned subcontractors. Designed to deliver education and networking opportunities, our EQUIP workshops will offer minority business enterprise firms a forum to engage in industry best practices.
“We’re excited about this next step in our efforts to continue building strong relationships with diverse firms in the industry,” said Vondace Contracting Corporate Responsibility Manager Natalie Kelly. “Vondace Contracting recognizes the opportunity and responsibility we have to incorporate inclusivity into our projects, and we are committed to creating accessible pathways for minority- and women-owned firms to be successful.”
Workshop content will include topics such as estimating, safety, legal and Lean construction. Each session will include networking with Vondace Contracting preconstruction and project teams as well as information about upcoming opportunities.
“We hope to support the subcontractor community by sharing lessons and best practices. As the program grows, we hope to learn more about the interests and needs of participating companies so we can create a forum for information sharing and business development,” said Vondace Contracting Vice President and Corporate Preconstruction Director Greg Hunsberger.
EQUIP will kick off in Vondace Contracting’s Atlanta office on Sept. 18 and in Birmingham on Oct. 8. Vondace Contracting will expand the program to additional locations in 2020. Interested companies should email [email protected] for more information.
